Take Inspired Action

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.  So throw off the bowlines.  Sail away from the safe harbour.  Catch the trade winds in your sails.

If you’ve been reading my blog for the past, oh I don’t know, seven weeks, you have created a compelling vision of your ideal life that is waiting for you just up ahead.  Okay you might not have done those things if you’re just reading it, but if you’re actually doing the suggested action steps, then you will have created a vision of your future life.

Now Future Pull can be engaged and you will be pulled effortlessly towards the life you were meant to live.  Now you can just relax, sit back and wait for UPS, the Universal Postal Service, to drop off all the goodies you’ve asked for.  Right?

Wrong!  If you’ve created a vision of your ideal life that is in line with your authentic self and the life you were meant to live, if you believe in your dream with your whole heart, recognize your power to attract it into your life, and stay focused, the miracle of Future Pull will be engaged.  But remember, it’s all about working in concert with the Universe.  Working being the key word here—not sitting back and relaxing and day dreaming, not struggling, but working.

You are a partner with the Universe and you have to do your share.  Engaging the power of the Universe and Future Pull to roll out the path to the future you have created makes it easier. You will be pulled in the right direction.  You will have guidance. But you still have to get up and walk the path to your dream.

One of the criticisms of the movie, The Secret, was that it implied that all you had to do was ask and you would receive.  They used the example of asking a genie and having your wishes granted.

They even quoted the Bible, where at Matthew 7:7 it tells us, “Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be answered.”  Notice, it doesn’t say, “Ask and sit back and wait because we’ll come and get you, take you by limo and carry you in the door.”

No, you still have to seek and when you find the right door, you have to knock before the door is answered.  The assurance is that if you ask, you will be guided so that when you seek, you will find and when you knock the door will be answered.  Action is not an option.  It’s imperative.

Inspired literally means ‘breathed upon’ and suggests that the recipient of inspiration is ‘in spirit’, guided by a higher power, God, intuition, the Universe, to take some action.  Having engaged the magic of Future Pull, you will be guided by the Universe to move accurately toward the dream that you have created up ahead.  You will be inspired.  The guidance might come in the form of great ideas, synchronicity and serendipity, helpful strangers, or unexpected blessings.  Your role is to watch for, accept and act on the guidance you receive.

Have you ever noticed how, as soon as you choose a goal and commit to it, amazing things start to happen?  Friends or even total strangers will provide information or opportunities that you weren’t expecting.  Something will come on the news that sends you off on exactly the right path you need.  But you still have to act on the information and opportunities.

As you stay alert and open to signs from the Universe, I know that you’ll be constantly amazed at the strange twists and turns that lead you to your goal.

In 2005, Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple, gave a commencement speech at Stanford University that is often quoted.  In that speech, talking about his career and how seemingly useless and random incidents and decisions all became part of the bigger picture in retrospect, he said,

“You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something—your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.”

For the next few weeks, I’ll be posting exerpts from the Taking Inspired Action part of my book Future Pull.

This is perfect timing too because I’m also launching my new program:  1 Month + 1 Goal + $1 a Day.  In this program, you’ll take action and accomplish one great goal – a D.U.M.B. Goal—and create massive change in your life.  You can go here to view the video about the program and sign up if you’d like.  But before you do, I should tell you that although I haven’t put it up on the page I’m linking you to yet, I am making a special offer.  Because it’s so crucial to have support and accountability when you are working towards a goal and trying to get a lot done in a short period of time, I’m offering you the chance to join with a friend.  The price for one person is $31 (a $ a day) but you can join with a friend for just another $12.

Now you certainly don’t need to join the program with a friend to be successful, because the support and accountability is built into the program, but if you do want to do it with a friend, you just need to purchase the program for two (it won’t be up till tomorrow) and then send me the name of the other person so I can manually add them to the list.

I’ll tell you more about that tomorrow.  But for now, just go watch the video.  You can click on the logo below to get there too.
